Details:
...A Gale Watch is in effect for all waters...
.Strong west to northwest winds will develop on Thursday in the
wake of a cold front carrying a line of storms. Sustained winds to
the edge of the gale threshold, with frequent gusts to around 40
knots, particularly farther offshore. Towards the 60 nm level,
some gusts may be begin to approach storm force.
...GALE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM THURSDAY TO 3 PM CST FRIDAY...
The National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston has issued a
Gale Warning, which is in effect from 2 PM Thursday to 3 PM CST
Friday. The Gale Watch is no longer in effect.
* WINDS...West winds of 25 to 35 knots with gusts up to 45 knots
across the far offshore waters. Occasional gusts may approach
storm force.
* WAVES/SEAS...Building to 6 to 8 feet nearshore...9 to 13 feet
offshore Thursday night.
* BAY WATERS...Very rough.
.PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or
occuring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires
experience and properly equipped vessels. It is highly
recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe
harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.
